The Club met at Railhead Smoke House for lunch on Saturday, August 10, 2005 following a morning visit to the Yellow Rose Car Show. About 15 members were present. Dan Bishop, President, announced a change in plans for the October meeting due to a cancellation of the anticipated car show at the Midlothian Fall Festival. As an alternative, he has contacted members in Ablene about a meet located between them and the DFW members - possible Mineral Wells State Park on October 17th. Gene Minichello also suggested a private botanic garden there as a possible site and volunteered to investigate it as an option.
Dan announced that the September 19th meeting will be at the Marriott Hotel in north Fort Worth so that members can visit the host site of the spring regional conference. This will be at noon for lunch and discussion of the conference events and activities by the subcommittees and members. Regarding the spring conference in June, Dan announced a conflict and a change in date to June 3rd to the 6th - one week earlier than planned but consistent with original plans. He still has to coordinate arrangements with Texas Motor Speedway for a track run but suggested that this might be moved to the Friday before which may be good if there is a large turnout and judging runs late. He presented posters that he prepared and John Garfield printed that were shipped to the National Conference in Ohio being held next month and additonal copies for use in local promotions and other regional clubs. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:30 P.M.

The April monthly meeting was held in conjunction with the All Ford Show, Sandy Lake Park, Carrollton, Texas. This was a chance for members to display thier birds along with many other vintage and classic Fords. During lunch, Dan Bishop, President, conducted a business meeting and discussed the new Web Page being managed by Bonnie Kershaw, discussed attendance at the upcoming Oklahoma Regional meet and preparations to host the Regional in 2010. Several options for activities, accomodations, etc. were discussed and the membership concured that we should reserve rooms at the Speedway Marriott in North Fort Worth and the Circle R BBQ for Saturday night awards banquet. Other options include a visit to the Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) for lunch and a track drive, excursions to Southlake Center or Fort Worth Stockyards. Dan will have more specific information on costs, etc. for next meeting. He is working on a flyer and literature to make available at the Oklahoma Show.
David Silva, Vice-President, noted that the By-Laws have been obtained and it was found that the Club requires two signatures for any expenditures over $250. Because the account is through a bank with Bill Strickland, it was decided that Bill would serve a co-signer on any such checks. There followed a discussion of upcoming events for the year including the Yellow Rose Show, a program for July and discussion of the May meeting at the Dallas Fire Fighters Museum to see restoration efforts of vintage fire trucks. There being no other business, the Club formally adourned at about 1:00 P.M.

What are some of you ideas for places to visit, tours we could set up, other things of interest for the 2010 regional? I'd like to see lots of choices for people, like we had in Colorado Springs for thier International. What are some of the tourist-type things that you think people might be interested in, besides the Car Show part of the convention?
